Cobalt blue: the catwalks to fashionistas favorite

The shade is highlighted in the new launches from Vizzano, which, by the way, are a must-see!

Every season, a new color (or even more than one) dominates the fashion world. Whether on the catwalks through the collections, in street style, and now in the feeds of fashion influencers. Besides the shades that we know will rock the closet all year long (Very Peri, lime green, and orange, for example), there is always one that comes close to going unnoticed, but at some point, its turn comes. In this case, we are talking about blue.

 

Since the first semester of 2022, the primary blue was explored in several fashion shows, highlighting the royal version thanks to its depth and high contrast. And so the color has been opening its own territory in women's taste and, at the moment, there is no one talking about anything else than cobalt blue. Vanessa Hudgens can tell you that, as she helped put it on the radar at the MTV Movie & TV Awards 2022.

Cobalt blue is a shade of blue that is very similar to royal blue and, as such, is associated with royalty (which unveils Kate Middleton as another color reference).

Originally, it was developed by the chemist Louis-Jacques Thénard, in the 19th century, with the purpose of being an alternative to ultramarine blue, which was more expensive and harder to find.

Soon, it became a success in the arts and was widely used by artists such as Monet, Renoir, and Cèzanne. And it has won over fashion for its versatility and for being a focal point among everyday items, such as handbags and shoes.

Coming to the stores: cobalt blue

Blue has emerged in 2020 when Classic Blue was elected the color of the year by Pantone. Today, the bet on cobalt blue is related to the mood of still wanting to use intensity, to stand out, and Vizzano has prepared launches that will transform any outfit.
